TRANSFORMING KEMPS HOUSE WITH FARROW & BALL

“When I enter a home, it’s all about creating the right ambiance and ensuring our clients feel comfortable. As I approached Kemps House, I envisioned soft greens. It seemed fitting for this charming country home,” said Joa Studholme, Color Curator at Farrow & Ball.

Kemps House holds special significance for LuxurySofa’s founder, Alex Willcock. With the opening of our Sussex Showroom nearby, Alex has been able to dedicate more attention to previously overlooked areas of personal space within the house.

Initially planning to repaint Song’s (Alex’s daughter) bedroom, our collaboration with Farrow & Ball’s color consultancy and Joa Studholme quickly evolved beyond expectations. Inspired by the house’s ambiance, we embarked on a broader transformation journey from the front door through the hallways leading to Song’s bedroom.

Joa was struck by the beautiful approach to Kemps House, framed by surrounding trees, a stone wall, and inviting topiary shapes. To enhance this natural drama, she recommended Farrow & Ball Chine Green for the front porch. This earthy, dark black-green shade from the Archive Collection draws inspiration from coastal gorges, harmonizing with the lush foliage and creating a striking entryway that enhances the living room’s spaciousness and lightness.
